School Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we continue to adjust our lives and daily routines, I would like to express my thanks again to all of you for doing everything that you are to support your children though these challenging times. It is wonderful seeing the photographs that you are continuing to send in and seeing how well the children are doing. However, we know that despite everyone's efforts and understanding for the current lockdown in the country's fight against coronavirus and Covid-19, many of us will still need some additional support to keep it all going over the coming weeks. Please find below a few links that you may wish to use to support you in your own circumstances. Starline is an online service that provides support to parents with home learning and has specialist advice on a range of issues linked to supporting your child at home with their learning: https://www.starline.org.uk/ The BBC have launched a dedicated home learning page to provide additional lessons for children at home. The teachers may be using some of these when they are creating their weekly plans for you to use on our Home Learning section of the school website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/levels/z3g4d2p Attached is also some information regarding how you can support your child with reading at home and some information for support for yourselves in the event you are feeling worried about the impact of being at home during lockdown. Although there is a lot of advice and support available at the moment, I believe that one of the most important things for you to focus on with your children is having a good routine in place that helps to distinguish between 'work time' and 'weekend/holiday time'. This will also help with maintaining everyone's mental health during this time. With best wishes for yours, your child's and your families health and well being.
