Class 4A
The Romans
We have created Roman shields and mosaics. In class we studied the design, shape and materials the Romans used. The most famous designs they used are the eagle's wings and the lightning bolt. The eagle was the symbol of the Roman army, and the lightning bolt was the symbol of Jupiter, the king of the gods.
Art Work
4A have been looking at the work of Andy Goldsworthy, an artist known for creating art involving natural materials and the passage of time. Working as both a sculptor and photographer, Goldsworthy crafts his art out of rocks, ice, leaves, or branches, knowing that the landscape will change.
“It's not about art,” he has explained. “It's just about life and the need to understand that a lot of things in life change.”
This is our work inspired by this artist.
Maths - Fractions
Year 4 have been learning about equivalent fractions in maths. Today we made pizza fractions and enjoyed designing and cutting our toppings. These will be used for an in-school maths display.
Music - Rap!
In music, we have created some lyrics and performed our own short raps. Have a listen and enjoy.
Edible Garden
Year 4 have been growing rocket and kale in our school Edible Garden. We have watered and weeded our plants and seedlings. Today we cut some leaves, washed them and tasted our rocket.
