Gilbert Colvin Primary played in Wanstead High’s annual tournament on Wednesday 2nd November. It was a perfect day for Rugby - beautiful blue winter skies.

In the school’s group were Barley Lane, Aldersbrook, and Churchfields.  A victory in the first game against Barley Lane got Colvin off to a great start, with tries coming from Adi, and Hamid. The team were feeling really confident and ready for their next game.

Aldersbrook proved to be a very good team and beat Colvin 5-1 with Adi again scoring the only try. The final game against Churchfields was much closer and went from end to end, Colvin had two tries disallowed with players just stepping into touch, but everyone kept going to the final whistle, but were finally beaten 2-0.

Chrurchfields and Aldersbrook were later to contest the final, so Colvin had given a good account of themselves against the eventual winners and runners up.
